Thermodynamics and heat transfer (ENER755_ESBC )
Présentation
Upon completion of the module students will
1. understand and be able to evaluate the thermodynamic properties of a system
2. be able to analyse energetic fluxes and calculate these fluxes
3. be able to evaluate the efficiency of a process
4. Understand the development of dynamic and thermal boundary layers
5. Be able to calculate the convection heat transfer coefficient for external flows, internal flows and free convection
Understand and be able to evaluate the performance of porous heat transfer in a 1D problem
Objectifs
· The student's basic knowledge of thermodynamic will be evaluated through course questions during the thermodynamic written test
· The student's ability to solve a energetic problem though a thermodynamic approach will be evaluated through a written exam and a project
· The student's basic knowledge of convective transfers will be evaluated through course questions during the heat transfer knowledge test
· The student's ability to choose and implement convective transfer correlations will be evaluated through different exercises during the heat transfer knowledge test
· The student's ability to solve a heat transfer problem in a 1D porous medium will be evaluated through a project
