1800-1945 : Revolution and Empire
 
This course focuses on British political, socio-economic and cultural history in the 19th century and the first half of the 20th century. It analyses such themes as the social and economic consequences of the Industrial Revolution; social reform and the rise of democracy; the Irish question from the Napoleonic Wars to Independence; the expansion of the British Empire and the beginning of its decline; the creation of the Commonwealth; and the impact of the two world wars on Britain.
